Location: Wimborne, Dorset Contract Type: Flexible (Monday to Friday, term-time) Duration: Ongoing, with potential to extend into the new year About the Role: We are looking for an experienced and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in the Wimborne area, providing dedicated support to a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
This is a flexible, term-time position, with the opportunity to work Monday to Friday.
The role is likely to extend into the new year, offering stability and a rewarding experience for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one support to a student with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met in the classroom.
Help the student engage with the curriculum and participate in class activities.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver personalised learning strategies.
Track and monitor progress, providing feedback and adjusting strategies as needed.
Promote positive behaviour, independence, and social development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of the student at all times, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Requirements: Proven experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
A patient, understanding, and flexible approach to working with children.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Ability to work independently and use initiative in a classroom setting.
Knowledge of SEN strategies, frameworks, and best practices.
Availability to work Monday to Friday, with flexible hours based on your availability.
Desirable Skills: Experience in a similar 1:1 Teaching Assistant role or supporting students with SEN.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN training).
First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training).
