Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Specialising in ASD) Location: Poole Salary: £12.82 per hour Start Date: November 2024 GSL Education is currently assisting a renowned school to seek a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
We're looking for dedicated candidates to join a dynamic SEN team focused on providing a nurturing, inclusive environment that empowers students to thrive across all areas of school life.
In this role, you'll offer personalised support, working one-on-one with a student with ASD, helping them engage fully with learning, social development, and emotional well-being.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your role will include: • Supporting the Class Teacher in reinforcing learning and consistently implementing behaviour policies.
• Embracing the school's vision and values to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
• Providing tailored, individualised support to a pupil with ASD, ensuring engagement and promoting positive learning experiences.
• Facilitating both 1:1 and small group activities to support social interaction, focus, and motivation.
We're looking for candidates who are: • Patient, proactive, and resilient – while this role is challenging, it's highly rewarding!
• Experienced in working within SEN/ASD settings (preferred but not essential) or with children or adults who have additional needs.
• Skilled in developing strong relationships and rapport with pupils.
• Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills, dedicated to nurturing the growth and progress of each pupil.

• An up-to-date CV with two recent, relevant references.
• A DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
