GSL Education Bournemouth Branch are on the lookout for a compassionate, motivated, and dynamic 1:1 SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join a progressive school in Poole.
 This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide tailored support to a student with special educational needs, helping them to thrive in their academic and personal development.
About the role: As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide specialised support to help a student engage fully in their education and interact positively with peers.
This role is crucial for the intellectual and social development of students requiring additional care.

Responsibilities of the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide personalised, one-on-one support to students with SEND, SEMH, ADHD, and additional learning needs.
Assist in developing and adapting lesson plans to meet individual learning requirements, ensuring alignment with the curriculum.
Create a supportive environment that fosters self-confidence, independence, and essential social skills.
Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to effectively address the child's needs.
Manage behaviour and promote positive interactions to support the student's overall well-being and academic success.
Ensure continuity in learning by assisting in all classroom activities, including sensory and therapeutic interventions as needed.
Requirements of the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant: A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is advantageous.
Previous experience working with children in an SEN environment, or complex additional learning and behavioural needs, particularly in a 1:1 setting, or else as a  1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant  is essential.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient approach.
The ability to adapt and respond to the unique needs of the student while promoting positive learning outcomes.
Have an  updated CV  and an  enhanced DBS registered to the update service  (or be willing to apply for one).
