Just a 10min walk from Manchester Piccadilly, this will be our second, full-service workspace; a thriving hub focused on supporting climate-tech startups.
Our plans are to replicate our London headquarters, where our ecosystem members can work, network, and access investment and support, to drive their purpose-driven enterprises. Reporting into our Northern Director, you'll be our first workspace-focused hire in Manchester, responsible for the management and delivery of this operation, working alongside our regional team.
Your first, key priority will be to run the café and bar operation, as this will be open to occupants of the Renold building, ahead of our first official opening.
Over the coming months, as we fill memberships over three floors, you'll be involved in the hiring of key Workspace direct reports to manage membership sales, run events, and hospitality. Your key responsibilities Running the café/bar (serving customers, 11am - 2pm, Mon-Fri during the first 6m of operation), maintaining stock and inventory management, delivering against budgeted revenue targets - these are the priorities for the first few months of operations. Setting up our workspace operations - in coordination, and collaboration, with our Workspace Director and in line with our Operations Playbook.
This includes setting up the office management platform, onboarding, access control for hot-desking and lost property procedures, room booking management, building checks, agreeing food and beverage standards, H&S compliance and fire and risk assessments.
Team day-to-day management - this will include recruiting our team, as we ramp up our services.
Facilities management - including health and safety, sustainability, IT, and security operations.
Contributing to office and desk space sales, and providing sales tours - working in collaboration with our London Sales and Events Managers Setting up and managing onboarding of new members - including office, desk and meeting rooms and administration of our workspace apps.
Requirements We need you to have A keen interest in sustainability, and supporting sustainable enterprise. 2 years+ experience in a similar role.
People/line management experience. A commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience. Core hospitality/venue operational experience. Hands on experience of membership and/or events sales and promotion activities, to drive revenue. Empathetic, calm and supportive approach - be a safe pair of hands in a busy, chaotic environment. Problem-solving capability. Barista and/or café service experience is also a requirement, however we can provide training in our London workspace if needed. Desirable Workspace experience - have an understanding of the needs of diverse members.
An understanding of the financial expectations of managing a venue/hospitality location.
