Job summary We are seeking a skilled System Assistant to support and champion the effective use of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) within Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust.We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills that takes pride in delivering great customer service, and can demonstrate initiative when approaching problem solving as well as a keen eye for detail.You will be a key part of a small Workforce Information team that supports clinicians, managers and users in their daily interactions with ESR, having responsibility for supporting self-service activities along with system upkeep, data analysis and reporting.
Main duties of the job You will provide front-line support to system users.
This involves supporting managers in making changes to ESR via self-service, supporting system access and user accounts, producing scheduled and adhoc staffing reports and general system admin.You will frequently be required to provide 'how-to' advice, and often relay best practice principles to managers.
Customer service skills are essential, along with good verbal and written communication skills.You will require the ability to work on your own initiative, including prioritising workloads, and demonstrate good problem solving skills.
You will support ongoing project work that is designed around embedding ESR self-service in the organisation.The role requires providing systems training to staff accessing ESR as well as more complex self-service activities.IT skills in relation to Microsoft Office software, in particular advanced Excel abilities are essential as well as experience in data manipulation and presentation.

Job description Job responsibilities Main duties: Front-line of support for incoming telephone or email queries connected to ESRGatekeeping and validation of ESR self-service changes submitted by managers.Producing standard reports and key performance indicators on both a scheduled and adhoc basis.Creating and maintaining user accounts, and undertaking user access auditsProviding virtual training sessions / support to usersDesign and maintain a suite of process guides to ensure continuity and stability of a robust service.Provide data analysis where required to support reporting requests.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience GCSE Maths and English Grade C / Grade 4 (or equivalent) Desirable Accreditation in training delivery Accreditation in Systems Admin Experience Essential Experience of working in a customer facing role Experience of working with data Experience of working within a project environment Desirable Experience of using the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) Experience of working within an NHS environment Skills Essential Proficient in use of MS Office Proficient in use of MS excel Knowledge of records management, IG and data protection standards Ability to analyse and interpret complex staffing information Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy with data input Excellent written and verbal communication skills with people across all levels of trust and external organisations Ability to organise and prioritise work Able to work under pressure Ability to provide training on all levels of system functionality Ability to deal with difficult situations and achieve positive outcomes Ability to problem solve using own initiative Desirable Knowledge of Agenda for Change T&Cs Knowledge of HR systems and procedures Knowledge of NHS Payroll processes Other Essential Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal English Language Personal Attributes / Behaviours Essential Provides excellent customer service High accuracy with good attention to detail Personal and People Development Essential Understand that when training users, everyone has different levels of systems understanding.

Must be able to communicate in different styles to aid understanding when delivering training.
