Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and highly specialist team at The Exeter Mobility Centre Wheelchair Service.
We are open to applications for both part time and full time working We are seeking a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with varied post graduate experience, who is looking to develop their specialist skills in postural management and wheelchair provision.
The post-holder will be working closely with other Wheelchair Therapists and Rehabilitation Engineers and whilst experience of postural management is advantageous, a full induction programme and training will be provided with full support and guidance from our Clinical Leads.
The new post holder will develop their specialist skills through training both internally and via external courses.

More detail about the role: The post-holder will be supported to develop into a role where they are responsible for providing specialist clinical expertise to the Wheelchair and Specialist Seating service based at Exeter Mobility Centre (EMC).
The wheelchair service has the unique role of treating both adults and children with a wide variety of medical conditions.
Covering patients with acute and long-term conditions.
You will see adults and paediatrics within the Centre in Exeter and at other locations as necessary satellite clinics, schools, secure units etc across Devon and Torbay.
The post-holder will assess and treat patients with complex postural conditions to provide an appropriate means of mobility and use clinical reasoning to formulate individualised plans.
They will triage referrals and ensure caseloads are managed within the contractual timeframes and within budget.
Service criteria and the formulary of equipment must be adhered to.
Our team ethos is to allow the individuals within our team to thrive and grow as Clinicians.
Beyond the clinical opportunities, there are a wide range of opportunities for development including supervision of students.
We have an established in-service training programme, with opportunities to attend and present any specialist topics based on your clinical interests.
In order to broaden our knowledge and skills we also regularly invite outside speakers to in service training sessions.
We encourage joint learning through our supportive reviews of case studies of complex patients, and are supportive of individual learning opportunities that are relevant to the patient groups we serve.
Since, this patient group is so varied, this allows for a range of educational opportunities.
Added benefits of working with the wheelchair service include free onsite parking, access to pool vehicles to complete visits, no current requirement to participate in the on call rota for Physiotherapists.

Working Pattern: We are seeking to employ up to hours a week, however part time or job share would be considered for the right candidate.
Our core working hours are 08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday.
