How will you make an impact in this role?
The Outcomes Testing Manager plays a crucial role in the implementation of an effective Compliance Monitoring and Testing Programme, focusing on the end-to-end outcomes that American Express is delivering for our customers.
In addition the Outcomes Testing Manager will undertake and support additional testing from the annual plan as required.
The Outcomes Testing Manager will assist in the design and maintenance of a comprehensive testing plan for all Lines of Business and initiatives in the UK - for both the card issuing, and the acquiring business.
This includes the review and oversight of policies, procedures and frameworks to enable compliance to be effectively managed in the first line.
Reporting into the Director for Regulatory Affairs and Testing, duties will include: Proactively assist and support the Director for Regulatory Affairs and Testing with the overall design and delivery of a proportionate and risk-based Outcomes Testing programme, and in conjunction with other team members, to continually identify key regulatory risks applicable to American Express.
Lead the embedding of a customer outcomes approach in compliance testing, ensuring that testing is focused on the identification of and enhancements to customers outcomes for American Express customers.
Perform thematic testing reviews and escalate findings to key stakeholders, working with team leaders across the Business to address and mitigate concerns identified in a timely manner.
Work with key stakeholders to ensure actions are tracked to closure appropriately.
Track, monitor and report on progress of the annual monitoring programme, updating it as appropriate to adapt to the changing environment and risks as appropriate.
Assist with the identification and assessment of current and future regulatory risks across key areas in compliance monitoring and escalate issues in a timely manner - making recommendations to mitigate those risks where appropriate.
Make recommendations to improve policies, processes and rules to improve the effectiveness of the controls, identify non-compliance with regulations or policies, identifying gaps in systems, processes and policies.
Keep up to date a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and company policies to identify the Company's legal obligations.
Minimum Qualifications Significant experience as an Outcomes Testing Manager with a working knowledge of the UK Credit Card / Payments / Retail Banking industry.
Proven ability to understand wide range of legal and regulatory concepts and convert them into relevant, practical business requirements and compliance solutions.
Proven ability to understand complex business systems & processes, and perform value-added testing that cuts across multiple business areas and multiple customer touchpoints.
Self-motivated, energetic, collaborative team player with proven ability to work effectively in a matrix international organization and across all levels of management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, delivers clear messaging in a constructive manner Strong influencing, and relationship / stakeholder management skills at all levels of management.
Strong organizational, time management and prioritisation skills.
Preferred qualifications Significant experience as an Outcomes Testing Manager with a working knowledge of the UK Credit Card / Payments / Retail Banking industry.
