We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Transport Planner to join our team based in Woolpit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating the movement of our own fleet and third-party logistics vehicles, which include flatbeds and HIAB loads.
This role requires a strong understanding of domestic transport planning and knowledge of driving hours regulations.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Key Responsibilities: - Efficiently plan and coordinate the use of both in-house fleet and third-party logistic vehicles, including flatbeds and HIABs, to meet customer delivery requirements.- Ensure compliance with driving hours, tachograph regulations, and other legal requirements.- Optimize route planning to maximize efficiency and reduce costs while ensuring timely delivery.- Liaise with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to manage transport schedules, address any issues, and ensure a high level of customer service.- Monitor vehicle and driver performance, addressing any issues that may arise to minimize disruptions.- Collaborate with other departments to align transport planning with operational needs and customer demands.- Manage and resolve any issues related to transport planning, including delays, vehicle breakdowns, or other disruptions.- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, company policies, and relevant transport regulations.
Requirements:- Previous experience in transport planning, with a focus on both fleet and third-party logistics vehicles.- Knowledge of domestic transport planning and regulations, including driving hours and tachograph requirements.- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.- Proficient in using transport planning software and other relevant tools.- Knowledge of flatbed and HIAB loads is an advantage.- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
