Job summary Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) is delivered by experienced, registered health care practitioners.
It is a level of practice characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making.
This is underpinned by a master's level award or equivalent that encompasses the four pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, with demonstration of area specific clinical competence.Trainee ACP Application Requirements:Fundamental to completing a trainee ACP role is gaining the MSc in ACP.
This can be achieved through two possible routes:ACP MSc from a University in the Health Education England South-East Region (HEE-SE) ACP MSc Apprenticeship with the University of Bournemouth or the University of Winchester (currently being procured).
(Staff will be required to have a C (5) or above in Maths and English at GCSE).Whilst we support staff, alongside their supervisor and line manager, to decide whether they would like to undertake a standard or apprenticeship ACP MSc route at a University of their choice, the funding for the standard ACP MSc occurs following a separate HEE external review body.
We will submit the application to HEE in March of each year but if it is declined staff will be expected to undertake the apprenticeship MSc.
Main duties of the job Trainees are required to attend university teaching days, practise clinical skills in their workplace and complete work-place based assessments of competencies and capabilities related to emerging HEE frameworks.
They will also meet their supervisor, manager and University regularly to plan their individual educational needs and monitor their progress across all four pillars of practice.You will be expected to work 60% clinical, 20% University time and 20% work-based learning time with this role as per attached trainee ACP job description and personal specification.If shortlisted, you will be expected to submit a personal statement in support of your application prior to interview.
This should be an academic, referenced and reflective statement of 1000 words detailing: are you planning to undertake the Advanced Clinical Practice MSc program?

will training to work at an advanced level change your individual practice?At the interview stage you will be expected to deliver a pre-prepared presentation for 10 minutes and complete a HEE trainee readiness checklist.This traineeship is to develop staff to work at an advanced level of practice as recognised in the form of an HEE Advanced Clinical Practice digital staff badge.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Professional (NMC/HCPC).
Educated to Level 6 Degree level in relevant speciality.
Evidence of Level 7- MSc level study or working towards it or equivalent experience.
Desirable Recognised leadership course.
