TARCG is working with a European, leading aircraft engineering company that is currently seeking an accomplished Technical Services Manager to join their growing operations in Stansted.
This role is essential to the success of the Maintenance Department and offers an outstanding opportunity for an individual looking to play a key part in maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency within the aviation industry.
Role Summary: The Technical Services Manager will support the Maintenance Department to ensure that technical resources, systems, and processes are in place to uphold safety standards, regulatory compliance, and operational fluidity.
Reporting to senior management, the Technical Services Manager will lead a team of 10 technical professionals, fostering a culture of safety and compliance whilst contributing directly to the company's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Operations: Partner with the Head of Maintenance and the Head of Compliance and Safety to oversee effective and safe maintenance practices, actively upholding the company's compliance and safety policies.
Regulatory Compliance: Remain abreast of current aviation regulations to ensure regulatory compliance across all technical activities, recommending improvements and implementing new technical procedures where appropriate.
Technical Support Management: Oversee essential technical support functions, including:Shift planning, in conjunction with the Head of Maintenance.
Acquisition, control, and calibration of tooling, as well as oversight of the technical library.
Selection and procurement of new tooling and materials.
Supplier selection and management.
Effective management of planning, records, and documentation control.
Staffing Coordination: Work collaboratively with Compliance and Commercial teams to onboard both certifying and non-certifying staff, integrating them into the organisation's shift schedule in accordance with company procedures.
Audit and Compliance Action: Address compliance audit discrepancies within the area of responsibility, completing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) within established timeframes and to the satisfaction of the Head of Compliance and Safety.
Production Planning System: Develop and maintain a production planning system tailored to the scope and technical complexity of the company's work.
Documentation and Records Management: Maintain all technical documents and records for customers in alignment with the organisation's standards.
Skills and Experience Required: Educational Background: A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in a technical or maintenance management role within the aviation sector.
Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of aviation safety regulations, including experience with EASA Part 145 compliance requirements.
Technical Proficiency: Strong background in maintenance scheduling, technical documentation management, and the management of tooling and materials.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrable ability to lead a team effectively, manage technical support functions, and coordinate across departments, particularly with Compliance and Commercial.
Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across multiple departments.
