We are recruiting for a Technical Product Support Manager to join Tarmac. You will work with a regional focus but also strong interactions across a national platform within the Tarmac business.
This role is working across our South East region and therefore is commutable from all major towns, cities, and villages in the Southeast and are easily accessible via most major road networks.

Role ResponsibilityThe Technical Product Support Manager will be extensively experienced in all commercial aspects of Aggregate, Asphalt, Concrete, Surfacing, and Pave technology and drive the teams to deliver for both operational and business growth. You will be the SME and this is a key role in the commercial team to ensure development focused on profitable products with a confirmed market and predicted profitability return. You will have the ability to problem solve, innovate, and drive technical performance to the highest levels.
As the Technical Product Support Manager, you must be well-versed in all technical construction methodologies and procedures and be able to coordinate a team of professionals of differing skill levels to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organisational skills.
Your responsibilities will include (not exhaustive):
Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Customers, and Technical Teams to support the rollout of products and provide Technical guidance/expertise for products and applications.Ensure that consumer-driven product demands have technical solutions linked to slow-moving stocks and increased margins wherever possible.Strive to differentiate Tarmac from our competition by providing a unique level of service/support in terms of specification writing, product selection, and sustainability advice.Maximise VAP sales through identification of opportunities and technical solutions.Ensure knowledge transfer across regions on slow-moving stock solutions.Regular liaison and support to selected Local Authorities, targeted Key Contractors, and National Contracting.Intelligent focused VAP promotion based on national and local targets.Attend Commercial meetings and support associated opportunities.Participate in the practical development of new products and facilitate related trials.Support commercial in the review, support, and assessment of Accredited Contractors.Pave the way to assist with securing supplies to longer-term Local Authority Framework Contracts.Identify future R&D opportunities based on client feedback.Promote Tarmac VAPs at industry conferences and events.Key Stakeholders: Commercial Director – Regional Commercial Teams – Regional & National Technical Teams – Regional Operational Teams – Centres of Excellence.
You will hold a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
The Ideal CandidateThe successful applicant will have experience from a commercial aspect as a Technical Product Support Manager within a Quarrying, Construction, Highways, or Surfacing industry, with knowledge of Aggregate, Asphalt, Concrete, Pave, and Surfacing.
Qualifications/Requirements/Capabilities:
