This role is ideal for a creative and hands-on professional with a strong understanding of talent development, who can combine strategic thinking with a practical approach to drive real change.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesAs the Talent & Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in Southern Water's transformation by:Building Talent Development Programs: Designing and implementing programs that enhance employee capabilities, support career development, and improve internal mobility.
You'll be identifying key skills and capabilities needed to achieve our strategic objectives, creating targeted development initiatives to close capability gaps.Collaborative Partnerships: Working closely with Strategic Workforce Planning, Talent Management, HR Business Partners, L&D teams, and operational leads across the business to address talent needs.
You'll spend time with teams and heads of departments to understand skill gaps and transfer critical knowledge.Engagement with Early Careers: Collaborating with our Early Careers team to create pathways that attract and develop new talent, ensuring a pipeline of future-ready professionals.In this role, you'll be encouraged to bring creativity to the table, along with a commercial mindset focused on cost-effective solutions.
You'll work closely with our business leaders, immersing yourself in team dynamics, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing innovative approaches to enhance talent efficiency.
Through these efforts, you'll also play a vital role in addressing knowledge gaps within the industry, helping Southern Water lead with a skilled, forward-thinking workforce.What You BringTo thrive as our Talent & Development Specialist, you should have:Experience in Talent Development: Proven track record in the talent space with operational experience in creating and implementing talent programs.Creative Problem-Solving: An innovative approach to addressing talent gaps and a passion for creating impactful development opportunities.Commercial Acumen: Ability to manage resources wisely, prioritising impactful investments that drive results for our business.Workday or Similar HCM/HRIS System Experience: Familiarity with Workday or a comparable HRIS system is desirable, enabling you to leverage technology for talent managementWhy This Role?Though this is a 12-month fixed-term contract, it could be the start of a long, impactful career at Southern Water.
