The role This is an exciting opportunity to join our fun and growing business within Javelin's Accounting team reporting into the Head of Accounting. This is a team of eight employees who form part of the wider Finance department that includes Tax, Risk and Trade Finance, all reporting into the CRO and CFO. The Systems Accountant is responsible for maintaining and improving the accounting and financial systems of the organization.
This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure the accuracy of financial data, optimizing systems for reporting and analysis, and providing support for the implementation of Workday.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Manage the organisation's financial systems ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
Monitor and evaluate system performance, recommending upgrades and improvements as necessary.
Work closely with IT and finance teams to implement new financial software or upgrades to existing systems.
Specifically through the implementation of Workday financials.
Provide training and support to staff on the use of the financial systems and reporting tools Ensure accurate data entry and processing within financial systems.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within financial operations.
Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to financial systems.
Requirements Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1 year in a systems or IT-related role Qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) chartered accountant is desirable Experience with Workday Financials accounting software Excellent team player who demonstrates a collaborative approach Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal A self-starter who is capable of using their initiative to anticipate the information needs of the business Ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare comprehensive reports Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
