OVERVIEW Cotton Council International (CCI) is the export arm of the National Cotton Council and is responsible for the promotion of U.S. grown cotton fiber and value-added U.S. cotton products in order to drive exports of U.S. cotton.
CCI desires to hire several consultants with the ability to help drive the United States Cotton Trust Protocol (USCTP) to success.
The USCTP is over 4 years old and has been established as a leading sustainability and traceability standard.
This will be a one-year contract for all the positions noted.
JOB DESCRIPTION: There are a total of seven different positions in three different areas as follows: Membership consultant-(1 position) This position will work with brands and retailers in both North America and Europe to help promote the USCTP so that brands and retailers are incented to become a member.
The requirements for this position are at least 10 years of sales experience in the textile category to global brands and retailers, a thorough knowledge of cotton sustainability and traceability programs, a knowledge of carbon insets, a willingness to travel at least 40% of the time and an excellent public speaker.
Traceability consultants-(3 positions) These positions will work closely with the USCTP partner, Textile Genesis, to help brands and retailers to put their products into the USCTP traceability solution so that they can trace their products throughout the entire supply chain.
Requirements for this role include at least 10 years' experience in the textile supply chain, a deep knowledge of the Textile Genesis system and great skill at training and on-boarding new people.
Sustainability consultants-(3 positions) These positions are the backbone of the USCTP because they provide all the science and knowledge of U.S. cotton's sustainability credentials.
Requirements include either a graduate degree (preferably a PhD.)
in a sustainability related field or significant experience in the sustainability world within a brand organization.
A minimum of 10 years of experience is desired along with a willingness to travel as needed.
COMPENSATION Compensation will be negotiated commensurate with the length and depth of the engagement.
PROPOSALS Interested consultants should submit their credentials with a brief one-page document and their CV, summarizing their experience and ability to meet the requirements as noted above.
A maximum of three parties will be selected for a follow up phone interview if all requirements for the position are met.
Following the phone interviews, if necessary, an on-site meeting will be conducted to further review credentials.
