Job summary The Cardiothoracic Directorate is a busy and growing service based at University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough.We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic individual to work alongside our Heart Failure Specialist Nursing Team within the Cardiology Department.
The applicant should have the essential requirements outlined in the personal specification , with excellent communication and organisational skills, ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to prioritise their own workload.
Excellent audio typing/typing skills is also an essential requirement for this role.
Main duties of the job To provide a high standard of administration support to the Heart Failure Specialist Nursing Team and wider cardiology clinical teams as and when required.Typing of clinical letters including clinic letters, urgent medication letters, result letters etc to a high standard.Retrieval and filing of medical notes as required.Receiving and opening of mail and taking appropriate actionTo support the Medical Secretarial Team in providing a comprehensive service to the consultants and clinical teams.To provide cross-cover across the cardiology department as and when requiredPhotocopying and scanning as requiredAnswering the telephone and liaising with the heart failure team to resolve patient queries efficiently and effectivelyMaintaining accurate filing systemsLiaising with medical records to organise follow-up appointmentsLiaising with other departments both internal and external to the Health BoardAssisting with any other administration duties as requiredSupport with data collection The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
