Job summary We are looking for a Support Medical Secretary to join our friendly and passionate admin team.
The post will be with the Cardiology Medical Secretarial team based in Kings Court 1 at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.The successful candidate will need to be an experienced secretary who thrives on a challenge and is confident and competent at prioritising their workload efficiently.
You should possess excellent typing and communication skills.

Job description Job responsibilities 1.
To assist with the sorting of the dayto day incoming mail, taking action or referring back to the senior medicalsecretary, where necessary.2.
To undertake medical audio/copytyping duties, including outpatient letters to GPs, discharge summaries andother official correspondence.3.To accept enquiries from clinicians, GPs Health Serviceand Social Services personnel, other hospitals, voluntary agencies, patientsand their relatives.
Patient contact bytelephone is an integral part of the basic role.
To deal with these enquiriesor refer back to the Senior Medical Secretary where necessary.4.
To ensure that patient case notes areas up-to-date and accurate by actively participating in the filing of patientrelated documentation at the earliest opportunity.5.
To ensure that case notes arecontrolled and delivered and participate with the Medical Records staff toreduce the incidences of lost notes and deliver them to clinical users, as soonas possible.
To ensure that all case notes are tracked out prior to sendingthem out of the office.6.
To participate in the use of the PASsystem to establish patient information and produce patient documentation asrequired.7.
To assist in providing cover forother secretaries in the Medical Directorate to ensure continuity of service toConsultant, medical staff, service users and patients.8.
To undertake any photocopying andcollation as required.9.
To undertake any other duties as maybe required/appropriate by the Senior Secretaries/ Directorate Support Manager.
