Job summary The successful candidate will join our Interventional Supply Chainteam within Theatres at Alexandra Hospital.
The individual will berequired to undertake efficient, accurate and timely Supply Chain duties in abusy, dynamic hospital environment and will work alongside colleagues withinTheatres and other departments when required.
This will include complementingand interacting with the wider Procurement & Supply Chain teams, Clinicaldepartments and Theatre functions.Previous experience is desirable and preferably within a hospitalenvironment.
Good communication skills and knowledge of IT systems areessential.
Main duties of the job The position involves using various IT systems utilising bothdesktop and handheld devices.
The post covers a wide range of duties requiringaccuracy and efficiency.
These duties include receiving goods, stock rotationand replenishment, cycle counting, internal distribution and supporting themigration to a full Inventory Management system within the organisation.
Thepost holder will work closely with the wider Supply Chain team but will also berequired to work independently and unsupervised on occasion.
This position can be physically demanding attimes and the post holder will be required to follow safe manual handlingpractices to ensure deliveries are received, booked in and transported to theirend destination safely and efficiently.
It will occasionally be necessary totravel to other Trust sites to provide cover.

To promote and maintain a cost effective and proactiveinventory management service in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.Location -Procurement andSupplies Department Theatre Stores (Based at Worcester Royal Hospital).Countywide travel will be required.Key Tasks -1.
Deal/distribute any post or incoming correspondence within theSupply Chain section.2.
To take receipt, sign for and book in delivered goods whilstreporting any discrepancies and taking the appropriate corrective action, andliaising with suppliers when items do not arrive as expected.3.
To undertake activities regarding stock movement analysis andre-order level assessment in conjunction with user requirements.4.
To advise and agree upon replenishment levels with authorisedstaff in accordance with agreed procedures as part of the Supply Chain ReviewProgramme.5.
To deliver goods to their correct end destination and obtain asigned delivery note where applicable.6.
To continually develop and improve relationships with internalcustomers through regular personal contact with a view to developing knowledgeof medical and surgical consumables to facilitate the Supply Chain ReviewProgramme.7.
To monitor and control replenishment levels, in-house and atward level.
To order and maintain optimum stock levels and replenish viaeconomic ordering quantities.
Data is to be captured via the use of the handheld PDA and then transmitted to the relevant stock management or inventorymanagement system.8.
Be aware of and adhere to, the correct ethics in transacting inpublic business.
To display a high standard of conduct and a professionalapproach when in contact with internal and external customers.9.
To move and distribute materials using the appropriate manualhandling equipment whilst observing Health and Safety Procedures at all times.10.
To put away top up items in to agreed stock locations ensuringthe stock rotation of goods.11.
To operate mechanical aids in a responsible and safe manner,keeping equipment and working areas safe, clean and tidy whilst ensuringcompliance to Health and Safety Procedures at all times.

To carry out stock taking duties in relevant areas.13.
Issue stock to internal and external sites adhering toprescribed procedures to facilitate the costing out of materials to theappropriate area.14.
To maintain systems for filing of delivery notes and allassociated paperwork.15.
To participate in training sessions to assist in personal anddepartmental development16.
To train, educate and give guidance on ordering procedures toTrust personnel in the light of changing circumstances.17.
To monitor contract compliance and advise Requistioners on themost efficient ordering procedures whilst adhering to Trust policies.18.
Carry out Supply Chain staff relief duties at other locationsas and when required.19.
Deal with queries in a professional and efficient manner,treating customers as you would wish to be treated and promoting a get it rightfirst time ethos.20.
To arrange the return of products in accordance withprescribed procedures.
Liaising with customers and suppliers, obtaining therelevant authorisation and packing the items for despatch where appropriate.21.
To organise and prioritise workloads which have competingdeadlines, whilst managing these conflicting demands efficiently.22.
Provide advice and information to internal customers withregards to stock management and product availability by using E-mail,telephone, virtual and face to face meetings.23.
To use reporting programmes to interrogate systems for productanalysis and provide usage data for budget holders.24.
Be responsible for the day to day security of all goods,equipment and materials within the materials management working environment.25.
Assist in the implementation of new product ranges on top upas advised by senior staff as part of the Trust Savings Work plan.26.
