Job summary The HSDU (Sterile Services) department isan enthusiastic team who work in a busy fast paced department.
The Sterile Services Department reprocessessurgical instruments for the Trust and surrounding areas.
The department works from 6am to 10pm Mondayto Friday.
Recently two new operating theatres have opened within the Alexandra Hospital to tackle the waiting list backlogfollowing the Covid pandemic.
This has created more Sterile Services Assistant job opportunities within the HSDU department.
The shift available is 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday.
Thedepartment offers a six month on the job training programme with anaccompanying I Learn qualifications.
Thedepartment is looking to offer an NVQ qualification in the future.
Opportunities do arise within the departmentto progress to a Supervisor and potentially a future manager.
Annual leave entitlement starts at 27days + Bank Holidays 29 days + BankHolidays (5 years)33 days + Bank Holidays (10 years) Main duties of the job The main duties of the role are the collection of used surgical instruments, preparing the instruments for the washer disinfector.
The reassembly of the surgical instrument trays, closely inspecting for cleanliness and damage, wrapping of the surgical instruments.
The sterilisation and delivery of the reprocessed surgical instruments.
