Position Overview: As the Senior Communications Lead you will own and drive our UK strategy and delivery for a range of outputs, including M&A communications, public relations, crisis communications, corporate social media, and product & brand messaging coverage.
You will be a talented and experienced writer and editor, who can bring strategic vision, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in developing and executing successful communication campaigns.
This role requires you to be flexible, personable, hardworking, excellent at multi-tasking, quick, and eager to make a significant impact.
You will also be skilled at taking complex technical and product information and making it user-friendly, interesting, and readable.
Building our brand in key markets globally in conjunction with your US counterparts, and raising awareness in key industries will form a core part of our comms strategy and will be key to the success of this role.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic planning and management Manage a UK-based team of three and UK corporate PR agency Work closely and effectively with US counterparts and global stakeholders across the organisation.
Lead UK public relations efforts to enhance IRIS' brand and visibility across three primary UK markets: HR (human capital management), accountancy, and education.
Develop and implement communication plans for company-wide initiatives, policy changes, and organisational updates.
Work closely with leadership and the US team to ensure effective communication of company brand, vision, values, and strategic objectives.
Writing and editing Experience developing and implementing complete communication plans for M&A, collaborating cross-functionally and ensuring a cohesive and transparent message to both internal and external stakeholders.
Including drafting press releases, internal and customer comms, letters to partners, key messages, social media posts, and more.
Crafting and editing compelling press releases, bylines, award entries, earned speaking opportunity submissions, briefing documents, talking points and other communication materials to generate positive media coverage.
Public Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and key stakeholders.
Having these in place already in key industries will be a huge benefit.
Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues and protect the company's reputation.
Act as a spokesperson and manage communication during crisis situations, working closely with executive leadership and legal teams.
Support our organic social media lead with crisis communications and responses as needed.
Podcast strategy: Support the development of content and the sourcing of speakers for the IRIS podcast.
Ensure the content is leveraged and support the channel's growth year on year.
Social media advocacy and executive thought leadership Plan and deliver regular executive level thought leadership, social sharing and commenting to drive the development of social and media profiles for key company executives, to raise the brand of IRIS.
