Job summary This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team of health professionals providing high quality sexual and reproductive healthcare across Worcestershire.
The post holder will be primarily based at the Aconbury North, Worcester site, but may be required to cover other sites if required.The post is a part time post for four sessions/week ( wte) working as a speciality doctor in sexual health.The post holder will provide medical input to the Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health service.
The team is a countywide (Worcestershire) service that aims to provide a level 3 sexual health serviceThe post holder will be expected to have access to a car and hold a driving licence.
Post holder will be expected to maintain good communication with wider healthcare professionals in the community GPs, in the spirit of person centred and joined up care, within the bounds of confidentiality within Sexual health.The post holder will be required to maintain a good standard of practice, including the assessments of patients, liaison with other professionals, record keeping, and other associated duties as directed.
Main duties of the job The duties of the post include:To provide clinical services in sexual health ,contraception and reproductive healthcare for patients with reference to national guidelinesand within limits defined in locally agreed operating proceduresTo be prepared to provide emergency contraceptionand counselling and referral of clients requesting provide non-judgemental counselling on allsexual health issues and to refer appropriately any service user.To providecounselling on all the available options to women presenting with anunintended/unwanted pregnancy.
To work within the legal processes for abortion, in conjunction with the nurse-led early medical abortion service.To participate in service quality governance, auditand medical meetings across the county wide Sexual Health Service, as well asundertake departmental audit, as appropriate.

Person Specification Knowledge Essential The candidate should have substantial and relevant clinical experience.
Sound medical skills and knowledge around sexual health.
Knowledge about the NHS and understanding the evidence base underpinning the delivery of high quality services.
Understanding of the importance of excellent team working relationships and ability to put this into practice.
Knowledge of appropriate medical and pharmacological treatments.
Experience Essential Experience working in Sexual health, Contraception services, HIV or a related specialty (including but not limited to Primary Care, Infectious Diseases or Obstetrics and Gynaecology Skills and abilities Essential A commitment to sexual health services.
Excellent communication skills, diplomacy and tact.
Efficiency in clinical work.
Knowledge of appropriate medical and pharmacological treatments.
Ability to keep good, legible written and computer records.
Familiarity with IT.
Qualifications Essential Full registration with the GMC with license of practice Minimum 4 years whole time or equivalent postgraduate clinical experience LOCs in Subdermal implants and Intrauterine Techniques.
Additional criteria Essential Willingness to train & develop staff.
Able to drive and/or access to a vehicle to meet the requirements of the post
