The Mersey Forest is a growing network of woodlands and green spaces across 2,900 square km across of Merseyside and Cheshire.
Created in 1991 it is one of England's 15 Community Forests, bringing together local authorities, landowners, businesses, and communities to improve the environment, economy, and quality of life in the region.
To date, the partnership has planted nearly 10 million trees, creating beautiful woodlands and habitats for wildlife, while also supporting local economies and promoting health and wellbeing.
By 2050, we aim to cultivate a vibrant, sustainable community forest that connects people with the power of nature.
The ideal candidatewill be a strategic communication professional, using data and research to develop communication plans, transforming insights into actions that will deliver measurable results.
Collaboration is one of your strengths, as you work seamlessly across teams and partners to ensure timely and effective communication planning and execution.
With a love of storytelling, youll be out and about across the area with the team and key stakeholders, capturing compelling stories from across the forest.
Youll be comfortable engaging a wide range of our stakeholders through various communication channels, including social media and at face-to-face events, highlighting the support the Mersey Forest team can provide and the benefits that our work is making in the area.
Experience in crafting supporter journeys to grow engagement and income, making use of direct, digital, social, and experiential communications channels is essential.
A solid understanding of Charity Commission regulations, GDPR, and best practices underpins your work, ensuring compliance and impact in equal measure.
In a typical week you will; Develop and deliver innovative communication strategies that inspire and engage audiences, with a focus on landowner engagement.
Utilise a wide range of communication channelsdigital platforms, social media, media outreach, photography, videography, and copywritingto connect with target audiences and implement effective campaigns.
Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaborative and cohesive communications.
Carry out research and evaluation to measure the impact of communication activities, using insights to continuously improve campaigns.

This role is a Hybrid Flexible Worker.
The job holder would be expected to attend The Mersey Offices at Risley Moss, Warrington at least one day a week or to be out on site with the team.
Flexibility would be required depending on the work programme.
This role requires travel across the Mersey Forest area for meetings and filming on a regular basis.
