Solution Architect - Insurance

Underwriting Technical Lead / Domain Architect Full time permanent position Leading global insurance company Salary up to £110,000 plus bonus and benefits Hybrid working (Birmingham twice a week) A global insurance business is currently looking for an Underwriting Technical Lead to join them on a permanent basis. This role will require working in the Central Birmingham office twice a week. The role will be responsible for the technical strategy that will enable the overall underwriting business strategy.

Duties will include: Overseeing technical aspects of the underwriting process (submission, automation, AI) and ensuring it aligns with objectives Designing software architecture of underwriting domain and managing technology delivery of development teams Define technical architecture roadmaps and guide implementation Support with development of underwriting strategy Work to enhance operational efficiency Identify workflows (pricing engines, policies, risk etc) Ensure the best is being achieved from internal and broker data Engage with third party suppliers To be considered suitable you will need the following skills and experience: Strong understanding of the insurance sector and underwriting processes Technical background with domain architecture experience Methodologies and framework knowledge System architecture, design patterns and software development methodologies Experience of AI Automation, data handling and data submission Understanding of broker integration and distribution processes
