Social Worker - Children's Looked After Team - Durham County Council Do you want to be a champion for children in care?Durham County Council iare seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join their Children's Looked After Team.

About the RoleAs a Social Worker in our Children's Looked After Team, you will play a vital role in supporting children in care and their families, promoting their well-being and ensuring their rights are protected.
You will: Work directly with children and young people in care, building strong relationships and providing guidance, support, and advocacy.Conduct thorough assessments of their needs, including their emotional, educational, and physical well-being.Develop and implement individualised care plans, ensuring tailored support is provided based on the child's individual circumstances and aspirations.Collaborate with a wide range of professionals, including foster carers, adoptive families, schools, health professionals, and other agencies, to create a cohesive and integrated support network.Ensure the child's voice is heard and their views are considered in decision-making, advocating for their needs and promoting their best interests.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, adhering to relevant legislation and policies.Who we're looking for:We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic Social Worker with a strong understanding of the needs of children in care and their families.
You will have: A recognised social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSC Social Work)A valid Social Work England registrationSignificant experience working with children in care, including experience in care planning and reviewsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individualsA deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to children in careA commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of childrenTo ApplyIf you are passionate about supporting children in care and possess the skills and experience outlined above, please submit your CV
