A new and exciting opportunity has arisen in our Power team for an experienced Social Value Coordinator.
This is a chance to play a key role in ensuring we deliver valuable benefits to the communities in which we work on a high-profile energy framework in the south in line with our contractual commitments.
Based out of Borehamwood, Iver, or Reading office, this is an exciting opportunity for a socially conscious individual to contribute to our company's mission and make a positive impact in the local community.
Duties and Responsibilities Primary contact for social value on the ED2 framework coordinating social value initiatives in line with the framework social value commitments.
Monitor our activities against the framework social value plan to ensure targets are being met highlighting areas of concern to the Sustainability & Environmental Manger and stakeholder manager.
Capture data and create reports on social value performance for the client and OCU management team to show how we are performing against our targets.
Collaborate with the client to coordinate joint volunteering days ensuring strong representation from OCU employees.
Coordinate charitable events both at the Borehamwood office and within the wider ED2 region.
Create relationships with local schools and coordinate STEM activities, career talks and other school engagement activities Work with the learning & development team and the ED2 management team to facilitate work placements with local schools and colleges ensuring they have a positive experience during their placement with us.
Carry our local needs assessments within the areas we are working to identify where and what social value initiatives to target.
Identify voluntary, social, and community enterprises (VCSEs) within our project areas and work with our commercial and procurement teams to evaluate opportunities to work with them.
Create relationships with other community groups where there are opportunities to deliver social value initiative Promote STEM Ambassadors on the Framework and share opportunities for school engagement and other Volunteering activities.
Work with marketing to promote and share social value initiatives that have been carried out.
Liaise with recruitment team to identify local employment opportunities.
Skills and Experience Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with a variety of people externally and at all levels within the organisation Sound understanding of social value and delivering benefits to communities Practical experience or working with communities, community groups or schools Good written communication skills, with the ability to write good quality, simple reports Good analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to collect, analyse, and interpret social value data.
Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve social value objectives.
Ability to travel occasionally to company sites and project locations as needed.
Commitment to promoting sustainability and social value.
