As our new Director of IT, Data, and Digital, you will be instrumental in driving this transformation forward and shaping the future of digital services for our community.
About the role
As Service Director IT, Data, and Digital, you'll play a pivotal role in Swindon Borough Council's ambitious digital transformation journey. Leading the Digital, Data, and IT service, you will drive a forward-thinking agenda that aligns technology initiatives with Swindon's corporate objectives. You'll oversee critical IT infrastructure, manage complex data architectures, and advance an ambitious digital strategy designed to foster connectivity and enhance the experiences of residents and employees alike.
In this role, you will champion the adoption of AI and new technology solutions, positioning Swindon as an insights-led, digitally progressive council. You'll lead the newly established Project Management Office, ensuring that digital and data strategies drive efficiency, optimise customer service, and promote workplace connectivity. This role places you at the heart of Swindon's transformation, empowering you to shape digital futures and make a tangible impact on the community.
What we're looking for
We're seeking an accomplished leader with a deep technical understanding and a strategic mindset, ready to spearhead digital and data transformation within a local government context. You'll bring a proven track record of delivering complex digital initiatives, strong experience in business case development, and the ability to demonstrate the return on investment for digital services.
The ideal candidate will have experience leveraging AI and digital innovation to connect teams, residents, and stakeholders. Your collaborative leadership style will enable you to unite diverse teams under a shared vision and deliver impactful change. With a passion for technology and a commitment to excellence, you'll advocate for continuous improvement and ensure that Swindon remains at the forefront of digital and data-driven service delivery.
