Job summary The post is part of the new elective hubWe are looking for a highly motivated individual to be part of the team leadership in theatres.
This exciting opportunity will mean you are part of theatre teams that require you to have expert knowledge in one specialism but also proficient in another and the willingness to learn multiple.
Main duties of the job You will have the motivation, vision and leadership qualities necessary to lead a successful multidisciplinary team.
As a key member of the senior team you will be pivotal in providing the assurance that high standards of care, staff support and development are being delivered within the theatre complex.You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in theatre coordination.You must be a registered Nurse (NMC) or a registered Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) able to assist with anaesthetics or willing to under take the courseMain duties of the jobTo assist and support the Clinical Operations manager in the effective management and utilisation of all theatre resources and to deputise for the Clinical Operations manager on occasions as required.Demonstrate appropriate managerial skills and knowledge to help facilitate the smooth running of the theatre complex.
Address poor practice standards, values and behaviours and escalate where appropriate.Recognise the need for own development to be relevant to expectations of role and on-going development of service, including internal competencies and academic leadership requirements.Work independently to manage material resources effectively, making sure stock and pharmacy resources are maintained at all e-rosters in line with trusts KPI requirements, identifying the skill and manpower requirement of the team.Understand budget setting and contribute to cost improvement programmes.

Job description Job responsibilities Contribute to the development and compliance of Standard Operating Procedures and Policies within the theatre complex, utilising benchmarking, risk assessments and best practice guidelines.
Demonstrate expertise in at least one theatre speciality and a willingness to become proficient in a further two and competent in all.
Ensure theatre practice meets national, professional and local guidance.
Key responsibility to maintain quality and safety providing assurance daily, participate in auditing, and peer reviews.
Actively promote sharing of good practice and dissemination of information following attendance on courses or study days in weekly emails.
Following completion of appropriate training performs expanded roles within the clinical area such as Surgical First Assistant (SFA) role and carrying out venepuncture and cannulation.
Leads by example demonstrating excellent professional and clinical standards whilst empowering others.
Provides a supportive environment, which is conducive to learning for all staff and students.
In line with a mentorship qualification.
Demonstrates understanding of own accountability being able to delegate work and refer to other professionals.
Demonstrates ability to take on the role of patient advocate and promotes this within the team.
When required, acts as an effective link practitioner to appropriate groups.
Communicates effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies as appropriate.
Demonstrates and promotes within the team the provision of care that maintains the privacy and dignity of patients Person Specification Education & Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse or ODP Diploma/Degree in nursing or allied health professional studies Mentor/assessor qualification or working towards Leadership course or equivalent or working towards Knowledge & Experience Essential Extensive post registration experience in the theatres setting Management experience and/or experience of leading a team Expert knowledge in one specialism and proficient in a second Skills & Knowledge Essential Ability to lead and influence others Effective problem solving Ability to have challenging conversations with a solution focused approach Ability to lead change Surgical First Assist or working towards
