*Senior Speech and Language Therapist * *Salary*: £36p/h *Location:* Surrey *Hours of Work: *37.5 hours – 3-month contract – Monday - Friday *Senior Speech and Language Therapist* Our private client has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language to join their SEND team.
*Senior Speech and Language Therapist* *Main Roles & Responsibilities:* • Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in children with SEND.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to students' specific needs and goals.
• Deliver one-to-one and group therapy sessions, integrating activities to support communication development.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and school staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Provide training and support to school staff on strategies to aid communication and language development.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, updating therapy plans as necessary.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of education and healthcare plans (EHCPs).
• Liaise with parents, caregivers, and external agencies to ensure cohesive support for each student.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with professional and school policies.
• Stay informed of best practices and advancements in speech and language therapy for children with SEND.
*Requirements: * · Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
· Registration with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).
· Significant post-qualification experience as a Speech and Language Therapist.
· Proven expertise working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
· Experience in managing a caseload within a school setting is desirable.
· Strong understanding of communication difficulties, including autism spectrum conditions, speech delays, and language disorders.
· Ability to deliver assessments, create individualized therapy plans, and measure progress effectively.
· Skilled in working collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support school staff.
· Enhanced DBS clearance.
· Knowledge of current policies and legislation regarding SEND and education.
· Commitment to professional development and staying updated with best practices in SEND and therapy interventions.
