Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the Company: We are working with a well-respected contractor with a proven track record of delivering infrastructure packages on major projects.
They have recently secured a significant work package on a project in Guildford and require an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead all commercial and contractual duties on the scheme.
The project has an 18-month programme and includes groundworks, deep drainage, and access roads.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, and hard-working with a 'hands-on' approach and possess a strong and flexible work ethic to support the needs of the business, and must have effective communication, problem-solving, and IT skills.
About the Role: Key Responsibilities: Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for the projects.
Conduct cost analysis and risk management for ongoing projects.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely procurement of materials and services.
Monitor project costs and progress, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Assist in the preparation of contract documents and manage contract variations.
Conduct site visits to assess project progress and provide accurate valuations.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the Civil Engineering sector.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts (particularly NEC4, Opt.A), cost control, and procurement processes.
Proficient in the use of Bluebeam, MS Project software, and MS Office suite.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Full driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.
