Taylor Root is pleased to be working with a well-known FMCG and consumer goods business to help them recruit a Senior Group Privacy Counsel.
Reporting to the Global Head of Data Protection.
You will have a broad range of responsibilities supporting a number of business units in the continual development of their data protection frameworks.
You will also have significant international exposure and will advise on privacy challenges in multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities Support the business to implement their data protection initiatives, which will include running cadence calls and being responsible for allocated business units.
Provide timely, accurate, quality legal advice, on all aspects of data protection, to various business units based in the UK and the wider EMEA region.
Assessing and advising on compliance gaps; advising on incidents and data breaches, data subject access requests and data retention; reviewing data protection impact assessments; and advising on internal transfers compliance.
Maintaining a regular dialogue and building strong relationships with Data Protection Co-Ordinator's across the group by playing an active part when the business implements solutions and help them to drive compliance on all areas of data protection.
About you UK (or comparable jurisdiction) qualified lawyer with at least 8 years post qualification experience.
Experience in retail or FMCG is highly desirable.
Accredited Data Privacy Professional (highly desirable).
A good understanding of Data Privacy law is essential.
Experience at top law firm and/or previous inhouse experience an advantage.
