Senior Planning Lawyer Salary: £49,498- £53,675 Location: Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud and Tewkesbury (based at Tewkesbury) Permanent opportunity An introduction to the Senior Planning Lawyer opportunity and our client: Sellick Partnership is delighted to be working exclusively with One Legal to recruit a permanent Senior Planning Lawyer.
One Legal is a shared legal service between four councils in Gloucestershire, offering a unique opportunity for ambitious lawyers/legal officers to work with a varied caseload.
They are seeking an ambitious lawyer who is ready for a dynamic and challenging environment to help them grow their legal team.
About the Senior Planning Lawyer vacancy: The successful candidate will be joining an experienced and supportive team of lawyers, providing a wide range of legal advice and support in relation to planning matters.
The role includes responsibility for the management and supervision of those in posts of Lawyer (potentially two) and/or Trainee Lawyer and any other members of the team as allocated.
The role offers the opportunity to work on complex planning matters including planning appeals and judicial reviews.
The role also includes being part of the Extended Management Team.
Key duties of the Senior Planning Lawyer will include: Full range of development management work including advice on enforcement, applications and appeals (potentially including advocacy at hearings and inquiries).
Planning committee advice and attendance.
Planning policy and community infrastructure levy work.
Leading on court challenges (statutory and judicial review).
Development consent order processes and planning based compulsory purchase work.
