Job summary Funded Training Opportunity Systemic Family Practice (SFP) Post Graduate Diploma within the Warrington Mental Health Support Teams in Schools Child and Young Peoples Mental Health Services A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner The successful applicants will part of an initiative for developmental posts in CYP Mental Health and will be recruited to train in a Post Graduate Therapy within the Children and Young People' Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT).
The training programme on offer is a Post Graduate Diploma in Systemic Family Practice (SFP) Self Harm and Conduct, full time The successful applicants will work within CYP MH as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality, outcome informed, focused and evidence-based interventions for children and young people in accordance with the competency framework for their therapeutic modality.
Applicants need to be able to start the Post Graduate training programme taught academic dates in January 2025 and commit to attendance at all university based taught and self-study days required by Manchester University.
You will work in the service for the remaining days of the week using your newly developed skills to ensure you gain the necessary clinical practice hours to fulfil the academic programme.
This is 200 hours of modality and case specific practice for the full time courses.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Must have qualification in at least one of the following areas Cognitive behavioural therapy, Qualified EMHP or CYWP Degree or equivalent level of experience Desirable Registered Core Profession Social Work or Nurse and Up to date Professional Registration (to be maintained).
Post Graduate or equivalent level of experience Assessor/Mentorship Training applicable to qualification Knowledge/Experience Essential Experience of mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions with children and young people with mental health problems and their families Skilled in the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, clinical sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups that reflect the full range of clinical severity including a high degree of professionalism in the face of emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.
Experienced in and the ability to undertake case management and the supervision of students as required Demonstrate a contribution to change management process Knowledge and skills in the complete range of approaches within the field as required to meet the needs of different patients and settings.
Level of knowledge of the mental health needs of children and adolescents.
