About this role: We are looking for a Senior Lighting Designer to join our London office. Our London office is centrally located and easily accessible by the metro's Circle line or Bakerloo line. You would find yourself in a multinational office environment full of passionate designers.
Job Summary: As a Senior Lighting Designer, you should have demonstrable lighting design experience and be able to manage projects independently. Your role is to develop and illustrate lighting concepts from initial briefing to completion. A high level of integrity and precision across all design documentation is expected. This role requires you to take ownership of completing the assigned task within agreed timeframes, with the highest level of quality and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities: Project Development: Specifying products under the guidance of their respective Director or Associate,Preparing Luminaire schedules and technical specifications,Reviewing and updating lighting control schedules,Crafting lighting control philosophies,Generating project reports,Conducting lighting calculations,Compiling concept presentations under the guidance of their respective Director or Associate,Creating content presentations and identifying design ideas under the guidance of their respective Director or Associate,Designing lighting layouts,Developing critical/installation lighting details,Reviewing and developing Design Documentation on a QA/QC basis,Creating necessary documentation in response to RFIs and establishing workflows for the post-contract stage,Generating required documentation for the tender process under the guidance of their respective Director or Associate,Demonstrating capability in developing a full scope (from concept to construction stage) of small-size projects (such as F&B, Residential apartments, stand-alone Retail, etc.),Demonstrating capability in developing a full scope (from concept to construction stage) of medium-size projects (such as Residential Villa, Building façade, Landscape, etc.).Project Management: Demonstrating excellent capability in managing the full scope of small-size projects,Demonstrating excellent capability in managing the complete post-contract scope of small-size projects,Demonstrating excellent capability in developing dedicated programs for small and medium-size projects.Demonstrating excellent capability in establishing weekly programs for you and your team.Exhibiting good capability in managing the full scope of medium-size projects,Demonstrating good capability in handling multiple deliverables concurrently.Exhibiting good capability in managing the full post-contract scope of medium and large-size projects,Taking ownership of delivering the full scope of small-size projects,Taking ownership of managing client expectations and maintaining continuous communication with the client design team,Taking ownership of requesting any necessary information or documentation to achieve the agreed targets,Taking ownership of achieving the targets agreed upon with the client,Maintaining constant control over the billing status of your projects,Managing multiple deliverables simultaneously,Managing and developing projects' standards documentation such as LEED, GSAS, ASHRAE, etc.,Assisting the Director or Associate Designer in managing and maintaining correspondence throughout the project stages with the design team (clients) for multiple projects,Managing and maintaining correspondence during the post-contract phase and staying up-to-date with RFI responses and internet-based document control systems such as Aconex for multiple projects,Overseeing the QA/QC process,Managing internal workflow between teams (CAD Team, Document controller, etc.),Supporting the Director or Associate in managing the projects' scope of work as per the contract.Team management: Facilitate communication among the internal team (Designers, CAD Team, Document controller, etc.),Coordinate communication between internal and external support teams,Ensure continuous internal and external workflow between teams,Manage internal resource tasks based on deliverables and internal processes under the guidance of your respective Principal,Identify priorities in managing resources across multiple projects' deliverables under the guidance of their respective Director or Associate,Provide team support,Assist the principals in compiling concept presentations, contributing to content, and generating design ideas,Support the Director or Associate on client management,Support junior designers in their day-to-day tasks when necessary.We promise you a career in the world of luxury design as you would be working in the hospitality design firm that is ranked No.1 in the world. Below are the minimum qualifications that we expect from you: The right to work in UK without visa sponsorship5-7 years of experience as Lighting Designer in lighting design consultancyBachelor or Master degree in Lighting Design, Interior Design / ArchitectureInterior / architectural lighting design experience in luxury hospitality, high-end residential, F&B, clubhouse or show flatsProficient in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Relux, DIALux, BIM/RevitDemonstrate good knowledge of hospitality design.Possess strong understanding of manufacturing and luminaires.Show proficiency in hand sketching.Demonstrate adept multitasking skills.Exhibit proficiency in reading 2D architectural drawings.Demonstrate excellent 3D spatial visualization based on 2D information/drawings.Possess comprehensive product design knowledge from both technical and aesthetic perspectives.Fluent in EnglishTo be successful in the role you should also have: Ability to meet tight project deadlinesProven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyCollaborative and enjoy working in team environmentsGood communication skillsDoes this sound like you?
