Job summary The post is accountable to the IPAC Matron for the day-to-day IP&C management across NCHC and to an on-going improvement in the quality of the patient's experience.The post holder has a responsibility to monitor and act upon standards of Infection Prevention & Control that fall below the acceptable standard and legislative responsibilities.This position is involved in ensuring Trust complies with its legislative and licensing requirements, The Health and Social Care Act 2008, and for the provision of specialist advice and guidance for all health care professionals and support staff across the Trust.
Main duties of the job To act as a subject matter expert (SME) demonstrating advanced knowledge and skill beyond that associated with traditional nursing roles, including the integration of research evidence into practice by expert clinical reasoning and decision making.As an acknowledged expert in the provision of patient management in relation to Infection Prevention & Control the post holder will, where required, make independent clinical decisions, initiate investigations, be responsible for advising on the management of defined group/groups of patients.

Job description Job responsibilities All duties and responsibilities are outlined within the job description which is attached to this advert.Please do review and if you have any further questions do not hesitate to get in touch.Any applicant is very welcome to visit the team for an overview Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Nurse or other registered clinical qualification Master's degree in Infection Control (or willingness to begin within 1 year of appointment) Evidence of IPS competencies ENB 998 or C&G 730 Desirable Management or leadership qualification Experience Essential Experience of working in IPAC Proven management experience Desirable Experience of working in community-based services Skills Essential Ability to analyse complex information and use own judgement to problem solve Ability to prioritise and organise own workload Ability to develop and deliver training programmes Assertive and able to deal with colleagues, patients and the public at all levels Excellent communication skills both verbal & written Demonstrable leadership skills IT skills Knowledge Essential Sound knowledge of Infection Control Policies / Practices Knowledge of the principles and practice of surveillance Demonstrate sound evidence-based approach to applying information Desirable Working knowledge of Datix Knowledge of clinical governance and risk management Other Essential Able to establish positive relationships and mutual respect Confident and resilient and able to deal with conflict Able to arrange own transport to different locations.
