The Emergency Department has a welcoming, inclusive, large and diverse team.
Applications are invited from unregistered staff who have experience in the acute setting.
Staff need to have a desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic and caring team.
It is essential that you have a positive outlook and excellent communication skills, together with an ability to inspire and motivate others.
The work and pace can be challenging; however, staff will develop both professionally and personally whilst working in the department.
A culture of excellence, patient care and staff development are at the very heart of all we do.
There will be an exposure to all specialities including Paediatrics, Plastics, Orthopaedics, Medical and Surgical.
We offer a tailored 2-week induction programme that will provide you with the foundation skills and knowledge to be successful in your role, as well as protected supernumerary time for a minimum of 3 weeks to ensure you are confident in your new role.
We have an in-house practice facilitator that will work with you to achieve your learning goals.
We have recently completed phase 1 of a large redevelopment in the ED in which has delivered a new 8 bedded purpose-built resus room (2 dedicated paediatric spaces), a modern reception and waiting area, new ambulance entrance, bereavement suite and internal reconfiguration.
Phase 2 of the build is due to complete in December 4 and will see the completion of a bespoke children's area and collocated Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU).
This will transform the way we care for children and families in the emergency setting and presents an exciting opportunity to be part of this change.

Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
We care for our patients around the clock so we will need you to work a range of shift patterns.
These range from short shifts, day shifts between 8: and : and hour day and night shifts with an hour break in the ward areas.
