Job summary To support the Deputy Head of Financial Controlin overall management and performance of financial accounts service utilising specialist knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, financial aspects of NHS legislation and NHS finance policies by providing cover for a range of business-critical processes within the financial accounts department.
Main duties of the job The Senior Financial Accountant will assist in the delivering accurate and timely production of the Trust's Annual Report and Accounts.
The post holder will also assist in ensuring that supporting schedules and working papers are produced to the highest standard, within the allocated timescales, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and statutory guidance such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and the Department of Health and Social Care Annual Reporting Manual.

** Person Specification Education/Qualification Essential AAT Qualified or equivalent Desirable CCAB Qualified (or equivalent combination of CCAB part qualified and experience) Educated to degree level or equivalent.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Experience Essential Production of Statutory Final Accounts or extensive involvement in the process Utilising financial ledger systems to undertake sales ledger, purchase ledger, and general ledger procedures.
Balance sheet reconciliation Prepare charitable fund accounts in accordance with necessary statutory guidance Cash flow management VAT accounting and preparation of returns to HMRC Payroll processing and third party payments Streamlining processes and procedures to improve efficiency Working with internal and external auditors Working with non-financial managers on finance and technical matters Using Systems Advanced Excel skills Desirable Financial modelling skills Financial systems management Project management and implementation of new financial systems or system upgrades Skills and Knowledge Essential Ability to deal with people at all levels both within and outside of the organisation.
