Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Job summary The SeniorCyber SecurityEngineer will work closely with the LeadCyber Security Engineer and the Cyber Security Architectto ensure that appropriate technical resources are trained and then aligned to work streams, toensure a seamless and consistent delivery of cyber security services to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and technical standards.
The post holder will require "hands on" technical skills on a wide range of technologies to support the team in providing cyber security services.
The post holder will also require strong proven communication and influencing skills and the ability to develop effective relationships across all levels of the organisation.
Main duties of the job Key areas of responsibility:>Security Architecture Design, Implementation,Monitoring and Support> Incident Response> Risk and Vulnerability Management> Policy and Compliance> Handing User Requests, Audit and System Testing> User Education and Training> Continuous Improvement, Budgeting and Cost Saving> Documentation and Reporting> Key Relationships As well as being an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer theroleis a "hands on" technical role which requires extensive experience of: Cloud platforms & architecture including Microsoft Azure IaaS, On-premise & Hybrid Server, Compute & Storage Infrastructure, Virtualisation infrastructure environments including Microsoft Hyper-V & VMWare, Microsoft Windows Server Roles ( Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, DFS, Group Policy etc), Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online etc), Mail & Web filtering tools (, Clearswift, Fortinet), VPN solutions such as Microsoft Direct Access or Always on VPN, Remote Desktop Services & VDI Solutions, Backup & Recovery Solutions, Antivirus Solutions ( SOPHOS, Microsoft Defender of Endpoint), Vulnerability assessment & scanning solutions ( IT Health Dashboard, Tenable Nessus), Database & Data Architecture including Microsoft SQL Server, Endpoint Management Solutions including Microsoft SCCM & Intune, Digital Infrastructure Monitoring Solutions (SolarWinds, Azure Monitor).

Person Specification Education and qualifications Essential Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant IT/ technical discipline Desirable Vendor specific qualifications from Microsoft or others as relevant Specific qualifications in cyber security technologies such as firewall, VPN, email security gateway, SIEM, PAM, AV, IDS/IPS, and Vulnerability Scanner Holds a current ITIL v4 Foundation/Practitioner certificate or a lapsed ITIL v3 Foundation/Practitioner certificate or equivalent experience Previous experience (Paid/Unpaid relevant to job) Essential Experience in supporting highly resilient systems Experience of supporting enterprise level critical cyber security infrastructure.
Desirable At least two years proven experience in IT security role, preferably within the NHS or healthcare sector Experience of being the subject matter expert in Organisational/Departmental level projects.
Experience of documenting policies and procedures relevant to role
