Job summary Closing date - 8th DecShortlisting - 9th DecInterviews - 17th DecThe role forms part ofthe Contracting and Procurement team which encompasses both the management andfacilitation of partner relationships as well as the transactional activitiesrequired by the contracting and procurement/provider selection process.The role is required towork flexible across the 5 places in West Yorkshire and an office base will beagreed with the individual.
Main duties of the job The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for the negotiation, management and delivery of an aligned portfolio of contracts with NHS and Non-NHS providers delivering services for the population of West Yorkshire.
The post holder will ensure that robust contract and performance management is in place to support the delivery of the ICB strategic priorities.
The role will be required to build relationships with stakeholders ensuring they are appropriately involved in the shaping of the commissioning intentions, management of contracts, and that there are mechanisms in place to understand local ICB concerns and issues and ensure that feedback is provided on these.
The senior contracts manager will have responsibility for ensuring day to day issues relating to ICB contracts are resolved quickly and effectively.
There are two roles: One will be part of the acute and independent sector portfolio team, with responsibility for NHS acute provider contracts, as well as Non-NHS Independent Sector contracts.

Job description Job responsibilities The post holders will be required to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, provide advice, expertise and specialist interpretation of contractual arrangements and related policies to meet relevant objectives.The acute and IS portfolio requires the post holder to have excellent analytical skills and an understanding of the NHS national tariff system enabling them to interpret and present regular statistical reports and information to various forums.The urgent and emergency care and non-healthcare portfolio requires the post holder to have excellent planning and leadership skills, as the job will involve ensuring that both healthcare and non-healthcare contracts are well-managed and adhere to set regulations.
A keen attention to detail and being able to manage staff working to numerous, differing deadlines will be advantageous.
Specialist knowledge of NHS contracting processes as well as procurement and provider selection processes are a key requirement of both roles.

Experience Essential Comprehensive experience of using data and information to understand issues and to formulate recommendations and decisions Significant experience of working across organisational boundaries, and negotiation with other organisations Experience and knowledge of contract management techniques Demonstrable experience of working in a management role within a contracting function Experience of handling, analysing, processing and presenting complex information Additional Requirements Essential Specialist knowledge of NHS contracting processes contract validation, National Tariff Payment System, negotiation, performance requirements.
Expert understanding of the commissioning cycle and the contract management process
