Job summary Applications are invited for a 12 month Clinical Fellow postin Obstetrics & Gynaecology.Under the guidance of the Consultants, the post holder willbe responsible for the clinical care of Obstetric and Gynaecology patients.
Thepost holder will work with all the Consultants in the Directorate.There will be opportunity to assist Out-patient clinics(Antenatal and Gynaecology) and perform both elective and emergency surgeryunder direct and indirect supervision.The successful applicant will be expected to participate inthe middle grade (MG) on call rota as part of the resident rota 1:8.This is an exciting time to join our unit.
Previousreconfiguration of services has brought all acute Obstetrics and Gynaecologyservices to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH) Site in Worcester.

The consultant has finalresponsibility for all patients under his/her care and therefore any clinicalproblems causing anxiety should be referred to the Consultant, as the seniormember of the team, or in his/her absence, the Consultant covering his/herduties.

Wehave well established multidisciplinary endometriosis and pelvic pain clinics,Fetal medicine scan clinics and diabetes clinics.Duties will be arranged with the consultants to whom you areresponsible, and you must discuss and understand these duties as soon aspossible as you take up your appointment.

Person Specification Experience Essential Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required at ST4 level in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Ability to offer clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within specialty.
Ability to take responsibility for clinical care of patients.
Knowledge of subspecialties where specified.
Desirable Experience of Audit.
Qualifications Essential MB ChB or equivalent.
Progress through the MRCOG exams.
Desirable Previous CPR Training.
CCT awarded.
Personal Qualities Essential Diplomatic and tactful.
Flexible approach to work duties.
Other Post Requirements Essential Full GMC registration with a Licence to Practise by time of appointment.
Medical Clearance by time of appointment.
Ability to travel to other hospital sites when required.
An understanding of the current NHS environment, particularly in relation to reforms, initiatives and issues.
