Job summary Exciting opportunities for trainees in Anaesthesia to do something different: Clinical Development Fellow in Anaesthesia.We will consider applicants seeking to work less-than-full-time.
The post would suit an individual seeking Out of Programme for Experience (OOPE).
The post will include the provision of out-of-hours Anaesthetic services at Kings Mill Hospital under the supervision of Consultants in Anaesthetics.You will have a named educational supervisor.
25% of time will be for supporting non-clinical activity research, training, education, administration, project work, meetings, etc.
75% will be clinical, including on-call commitment.
In addition, you will have 10 days of study leave allowance and a study budget Main duties of the job Participate in the provision of an emergency Anaesthetic service and take part in the on-call rota.
This includes: Resuscitation, stabilisation and intubation of critically unwell patients outside of the operating theatre environment Assessing critically unwell patients referred for Critical Care admission in the Emergency Department and wards Transfer level 2/3 patients safely (intra and inter-hospital) Participate in the educational and clinical governance within the department Participate in continuing professional development activities in order to maintain knowledge and skill Maintain professional standards and obligations as set out by the General Medical Council (GMC) and comply inparticular with the GMC's guidance on 'Good Medical Practice' Provision of a service to Sherwood Forest Hospitals, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorised absences Responsibilities for carrying out teaching duties as required and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate andcontinuing medical education activity About us Thank you for your interest in this role.Sherwood Forest Hospitals is nationally recognised as being an excellent place to work and deliver care.

Person Specification Qualifications & Eligibility Essential MBBS or equivalent Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice Eligibility to work in the UK Desirable Experience within Anaesthesia Clinical Experience Essential Completion of foundation training (or equivalent) IAC and IACOA Ability to provide anaesthesia for ASA 1 and 2 patients with distant supervision Appropriate experience and competencies requisite to all aspects of the job description Desirable Experience in working in an NHS District General Hospital or equivalent Experience of working in Critical Care Advanced Life Support Research and Audit Essential Understanding of the principles of audit and quality improvement Desirable Completion of audit / quality improvement projects Publications in peer-reviewed journals Other Attributes Essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team Able to organise and manage priorities Professional attitude to work Demonstrates punctuality Prepared to work flexibly according to the changing need of the service Respectful to others Displays honesty, integrity awareness of confidentiality and ethical issues Computer literate Desirable Presentation skills
