We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated senior theatre practitioner to join our peri-operative team within the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital as SCN/SCODP within theatres.About the Role As a SCN/SCODP within theatres, you will be responsible for the daily management of your speciality whilst ensuring patients receive a high standard of safe, effective and person centred care.
This requires a visible leader, providing clinical supervision for your staff group to support in the delivery of patient care.
You will not only lead the team within theatres but working collaboratively with areas such as Critical Care to enable a smooth patient flow resulting in excellent patient outcomes.
You will be pivotal in the provision of complex surgery and contribute to national services such as NORS.
The post holder will also have a focus on utilisation, ensuring efficient use of theatres to support patients through their peri-operative journey.You should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of leadership and managing a team, particularly through change.
A commitment to quality improvement, to ensure delivery of evidence-based care is essential, whilst having a 'can-do' attitude.NHS Golden Jubilee manages all heart and lung surgery for the West of Scotland as well as being the country's only adult heart transplant unit.
We are also home to one of Europe's biggest elective orthopaedic centres and a major diagnostic imaging service.
We have 20 theatres delivering a wide range of specialist surgeries and a further 6 theatres within our dedicated Eye Centre.
Our new Surgical Centre opened in autumn this year which includes 5 state of the art theatres, a 5 room Endoscopy suit and a Same Day Admission Unit.DevelopmentWe have a dedicated Perioperative Clinical Education Team, providing training, personal and professional development opportunities.
There is also our Learning and Organisational Development team who are available to guide staff through their professional journey and support learning whilst working within the Golden Jubilee Hospital.
