Role: SEND Emotional Support Facilitator Location: Houghton RegisSalary/ Benefits: From £24,000 (pro rata) DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave (plus public holidays), People's Pension, Retail and leisure discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.Working Pattern: 37hr (1.0 FTE)Contract Type: Permanent – Term TimeAbout the role:We are looking for SEND Emotional Support Facilitatorto join our Additional Support Department based at The Bedford College Group.
As a Support Facilitator you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:Ensuring the delivery of high-quality out of class support for students Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities based within our Haven at Central Bedfordshire College.
(safe space for SEND students on site).Identifying and providing specialised individual support to students accessing the Haven.Undertaking directed interventions with identified students in line with their individual needs, such as mentoring, emotional support and guidance.Liaising with the team and curriculum areas to support the safety, well-being and achievement of students accessing the Haven.Being the first point of contact for students accessing the Haven with SEND needs.Proactively supporting students with SEND outside of the class in line with their identified needs.Providing regular opportunities for mentoring for identified students as required.Advocating students views within the curriculum area, including attendance at support management meetings, as appropriate.Developing a range of lunch time activities to engage students within the Haven to promote social engagement.
About you:A Levels or equivalent qualification in relevant subjectEnglish and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalentKnowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2014Experience of working with a range of young people with SEND within a supporting capacityExperience of working in a further education or related settingExperience of working as a member of a teamExperience of using Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to consistently support a high-quality learning experience for all studentsAbility to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writingResponsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns
