Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) Location: Year 3 Class, Primary School, Wellingborough Working Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday Salary: £85 per day Contract Type: Temporary, with potential for permanent placement Start Date: ASAP Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, working 1:1 with a Year 3 pupil who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at our primary school in Wellingborough.
This role is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, using effective strategies to enhance learning and engagement.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where the pupil feels secure, supported, and motivated.
Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to develop individualized learning plans.
Implement strategies that support the social, emotional, and academic needs of the child.
Track and report the pupil's progress to ensure consistent support and adjustments where necessary.
Requirements: Proven experience working with children with ASD in a school setting, ideally within Key Stage 2.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to build a trusting relationship with the child, encouraging their growth and participation.
Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic classroom environment.
