** **Job title: SEN Teacher** **Location: Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucester** **Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am - 4.30pm** **Salary: £36,750.00 - £42,000.00 per annum dependant on experiencequalifications** **Contract: Permanent; Term Time only** As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teacher to join our close-knit team at Brookthorpe Hall School, part of Options Autism.
**About the Role** We are looking to appoint a dynamic, passionate and committed SEN Teacher to join our educational team and to help deliver an outstanding curriculum, motivate the pupils and achieve positive outcomes for our young people.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs.
You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom.
You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum disorder or pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Or you may have experience of working across both specialisms **Job Summary and Duties** Working as an SEN Teacher for Brookthorpe Hall School, you will deliver fun educational based learning which is tailored to each of our pupils to ensure they will achieve positive results.
The role will be challenging but rewarding, working in a dynamic environment where you can make a real difference.
You will be expected to lead the teaching of and co-ordinate flexible, person-centred programmes of study for individuals and groups of pupils.
You will be able to demonstrate a practical, hands-on approach to teaching and be prepared to go above and beyond for the young people we support.
Following a thorough induction programme, your duties will include: * Teaching a varied range of subjects * Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions whilst maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments * Writing and implement individual education plans, making assessments of educational attainment, setting challenging yet achievable targets * Build relationships with all young people, which will encourage their interest and participation in their education * Creating an environment which is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings Key Skills Required: * Hold Qualified Teacher Status * Have a background of teaching a range of subjects, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level * Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practise, process and curriculum * Be experienced in or have an interest working within an SEN setting, supporting pupils with challenging behaviour (SEMHASD) **Please include examples of relevant knowledge and experience related to this role in your letter of application.
** **About the School** Brookthorpe Hall School is a new independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 7 to 16, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs, SEMHASDComplex trauma.
Our dedicated team will work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.
For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
