Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within an SEN Hub in a primary school in Huyton, Liverpool .
Location: Huyton, Liverpool Start Date: January 2025 Employment Type: Full-time, long-term with the potential for permanent placement About the Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils with SEMH needs within the school's SEN Hub.
Working closely with staff and specialists, you will create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages pupils to engage with learning and develop their emotional resilience.
Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils' individual needs.
Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.
Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised support plans.
Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and independence.
What We're Looking For: Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs or in a similar role.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions (training can be provided).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
