Job summary We are looking for a professional and enthusiastic individual to join the Trauma & Orthopaedic Secretarial Team, assisting in providing a full admin support to our Consultants and clinical team, to deliver a safe and efficient service within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Team.
Main duties of the job Your duties will include audio typing of correspondence, updating patient pathways, preparing clinic correspondence, as well as providing admin support to the wider team.
You will also deal with a variety of other clerical duties.You will need fast and accurate audio typing skills.
You should have good written and oral communication skills and function well as part of a team, using your own initiative and ability to prioritise work to achieve deadlines.
You will need to be competent in a range of IT packages, including MS Office.The role of secretarial assistant is interesting and varied and offers the opportunity to develop further.

Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential Educated to GCSE level standard English Language at Grade A - C (or equivalent) Desirable NVQ 2 in Business Administration RSA II typing or equivalent in typing Audio typing qualification or recent relevant experience Experience Essential Experience of using MS Office, particularly MS Word and Outlook Desirable Experience of using Hospital systems, for example PAS (Patient Administration System) Experience of working with the general public and/or professionals Previous Secretarial/Office experience Key Skills Essential Good standard of written and verbal communication Organisational skills and a flexible approach to work Knowledge Essential Demonstrate an understanding of customer care/ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
