We are currently seeking a talented and driven Sales & Operations Planning Manager to join our dynamic team at our Tarpey Wax and Tarpey Ceramics site located in Denby, UK.
This position reports to the Managing Director of Tarpey.
Key Responsibilities: 1.
Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) in alignment with sales forecasts, production capacities, and customer demands.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure that production schedules are achievable and aligned with material availability.
Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in customer demand, production delays, or material shortages.
Continually monitor WIP to ensure planned production is moved effectively through the process.
2.
Materials Management: Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies in accordance with production needs and inventory policies.
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to minimise waste, reduce costs, and ensure material availability.
3.
Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules while minimising excess inventory and obsolescence.
Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Analyse inventory data and trends to identify areas for improvement in inventory management practices.
4.
Supplier Management: Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and delivery performance.
Monitor supplier performance and work with suppliers to resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
5.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with, production and quality teams to ensure that materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate with the finance department to manage the budget for materials procurement and track cost savings.
Work with Sales to ensure all forward forecasts are built into both production plans and material requirement forecasts.
6.
Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management, inventory control, and supply chain efficiency.
Implement and maintain systems for monitoring and improving material usage, waste reduction, and cost savings.
7.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on material usage, inventory levels, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Analyse data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications : Education: Qualification in Operations Management or Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., IOM, CPIM) is preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 1 years of experience in manufacturing planning role Knowledge of 123 ERP would be an advantage but not essential.
Skills : Strong knowledge of materials planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
Experience in ERP/MRP systems and supply chain management software.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Work Environment : Work is performed in an office and manufacturing environment but occasional travel to supplier sites and customer locations may be required.
