Main duties of the job This post is to back fill the regional rhinology fellow and will be for 12 months starting in July 2024.
Your role will involve the following: o Inpatient care o Providing medical management for all ENT patients at the John Radcliffe hospital o Emergency ENT service o Including 1 in 8 on-call covering the ENT SHO bleep, managing referrals internally (from A&E and other wards) and externally (from primary care and referring hospitals) o Assessing and managing patients on the GP Referral Unit (acute ENT referrals) o Outpatient care o Nasal fracture clinic o General ENT clinics 2 per week o Specialist rhinology clinic 1 per week (One stop Sinusitis / Transcranial Trauma/Combined Airway Clinic o Theatres o 2 all day lists per week in rhinology with the opportunity to attend joint cases at other times with ophthalmology/plastics/neurosurgery.
These will be shared with the SpR and it is expected that the fellow will do some teaching.
In addition, there will be opportunities to be involved in the following for educational and training purposes: o Departmental teaching sessions o Clinical Governance meetings o Audit, Research and Quality Improvement There is plenty of support to participate in projects within the department.
General The post-holder will assume a continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and the proper functioning of his/her department.

Competent in uncomplicated FESS/Septal Surgery Managing ENT emergencies tracheostomy, neck wounds, epistaxis Teaching ability Basic Surgical techniques Evidence of audit & research publications in surgery.
Desirable Leadership training.
Experience in septorhinoplasty Exposure to frontal sinus anterior and skull base surgery Surgical skills: Experienced in Rhinology Publications peer reviewed and presentations at learned society meetings/ conferences Good Clinical Practice certificate Experience with organising courses, meetings etc.
