As our Resource Manager, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home.
This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

You'll also be responsible for managing the Health, Safety and Environmental compliance of workshops, vehicles, and site visits including travelling considerations.
Your key duties Planning and coordinating tasks for a team of engineers to develop and install meteorological monitoring equipment and systems Managing a small number of team members to develop individual and team expertise Assisting administration of financial forecasts and budgets to ensure cost-effective team operations Using an asset management database to maintain up to date work tasks and asset records Managing the HQ Development Enclosure to ensure (1) site visits are carried out safely and (2) equipment is installed and maintained in line with best practice Why join us Our work is life-changing, often life-saving and always life-enhancing.

As our Resource Manager, your total reward package will be up to £57,639 annually, which includes: £41,725 base pay.
An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%.
Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) you will be paid £3,600 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills.
Whilst in post, you will be paid this market driven allowance from April 2024 until September 2025 in your monthly pay.
Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave.
Essential Criteria, skills and experience: A track record of working as part of a team, planning own and others' work, prioritising workloads from a range of stakeholders to deliver operational objectives in a structured manner.
An expert by nature providing strong evidence of application of engineering skills in at least two of (installing, maintaining or building) complex scientific, or environmental measurement systems.
Strong relationship management skills including evidence of the ability to build trust and maintain mutually beneficial relationships across multiple teams.
Experience of (or evidence of capability to undertake) line management responsibility for a small team.
Demonstrating better together values when working in multi-faceted teams and developing team members to build a broad set of skills and expertise within the team.
A proven ability to exchange complex technical information with users of varying knowledge to deliver small and medium scale engineering projects in an operational technical or engineering environment.
Evidence of keeping evolving , identifying and implementing changes and improvements to operational processes and services.
To minimise future risk and/or improve service delivery to customers.
Demonstrable experience and qualifications for working in a Health and Safety driven environment.

Registration as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer through a professional body affiliated to the Engineering Council, or an alternative professional membership through an equivalent body.
