Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, funded by the EPSRC Mathematical Sciences Small Grant "Efficient nonparametric testing via dynamic trees".
The successful candidate will work closely with Dr Dean Bodenham at Imperial College on some aspects of the EPSRC Mathematical Sciences Small Grant "Efficient nonparametric testing via dynamic trees".This position is well-suited for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: two-sample testing, changepoint detection, nonparametric statistics, and missing data.
The essential requirements for this post are as follows: A PhD or equivalent level of professional qualifications and/or experience in statistics or closely related fields.Clear evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research, with a good publication record, commensurate with career stage.A broad and strong background in statisticsAbility to carry out original research and to produce published research papersAbility to identify, develop, and implement new concepts, techniques, and methods.Ability to organise own work independently.Ability to prioritise own work in response to deadlines.Ability to work with others, especially postdocs and graduate students.Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to deal with a wide range of people, and to communicate complex information clearly.
