Job summary The Bowel Screening Practitioner will participate as a member of the nursing and multidisciplinary team providing high standards of evidence based care in the delivery of the Welsh bowel screening programme.
They will be the first point of contact for participants who have received a positive faecal occult blood test and will provide specialist advice, support and continuity of care throughout the participant pathway.
This will include making an assessment of fitness for colonoscopy, attending colonoscopy, managing the results handling process and referral to the multidisciplinary team if appropriate.
Main duties of the job Bowel Screening Wales Practioner Band 6 Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Bowel Screening Wales (BSW) Specialist Practioner to Join the team.We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated specialist nurse with a keen interest in Bowel Screening Wales.You will need to be committed to providing high quality nursing care.
Working in a progressively changing environment you will need to promote the Trust's values and be committed to high standards of service delivery.
You will also need to show strong clinical skills and be able to develop opportunities to improve our patient's experience and support the current departmental management.We provide a service to Bowel Screening Wales Participants.Carry out telephone assessment's for participants.Support the BSW Endoscopy Theatre Lists.Working with Public Health Wales and to Bowel Screening Wales Quality StandardsThe successful applicant must be willing to travel between ABUHB hospital sites as the service is developed.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
